Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons in Košice is educational and congress center of the
Ministry of Agriculture SR, specialized on development of human resources. Emphasized is whole-life
education of employees of the State veterinary and food administration of Slovak republic and the State veterinary
and food institutes in all areas of veterinary care, food and foodstuff hygiene as well as food control,
veterinary legislative, protection of state territory, common agriculture policy of EU and laboratory diagnostic
(education with tradition since 1958).
Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons in Košice offers rent of premises for trainings,
negotiations and company prezentations as well as complete provision of accomodation and cateing.
Director of Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons in Košice is MVDr. Jozef Pokorný. Institute has currently 14 employees.

Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons is suitable for organization of congresses, conferences,
seminars, trainings, workshops and presentation. In all offered rooms up to date audiovisual equipment is included.

Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons offers standard accommodation in the one star pension with

apartments consist of bed room, living room, bathroom and WC have hotel phone, TV-SAT, radio and refrigerator – price: 56,00 €/person/night
All our rooms are non-smoking.
Town tax of 1.50,- € per person per night is not included in the price.
Museum of Veterinary Medicine
Part of Institute of Postgraduate Education of Veterinary Surgeons is Museum of Veterinary Medicine - the only one in
Slovakia. Museum expositions are accessible not only for veterinary medicine students and veterinary surgeons but for
public, too. Authentic exhibits and lot of printed documents have given global view on veterinary medicine development
in historical as well as social and economical coherences.

Slovak Veterinary Journal is scientific bimonthly published journal dealing with veterinary care, animal health,
veterinary pharmacy, dietetics, animal welfare, food hygiene and veterinary practice. English abstract of scientific
articles are published in international database Food Science and Technology Abstract (FSTA).
